YEA!!!! I retired from Adams and Reese law firm in February of 2007 and
haven’t looked back!! Leaving there was wonderful as opposed to when I retired
and was forced to leave LL&E. I’m enjoying my new lifestyle and am so excited
to be able to plan things during daylight hours! My sorority keeps me busy as
well as planning our home updating project which I hope will get underway soon.
My husband, Jim, is still active as a Coldwell Banker TEC realtor and with his
own residential appraisal firm. He’s also enjoying retirement from the
military with 30+ years of service (2 in the Army and the rest in the Louisiana
Air National Guard). We visited the Aquarium recently and was amazed to see
how big the white alligator has become! Of course, ConocoPhillips takes
credit for the Mississippi River exhibit without even mentioning where the
white alligators were discovered! Jim and I have done some traveling here
in the USA and hope to explore further next year. Our son, Scott, is still
an engineer with Lockheed Martin (Michoud) and is working on the Orion
Project. Our daughter, Jennifer, is with St. Tammany Parish Hospital
in Covington in their Human Resources Department.

Just returned from three weeks in Russia. Spent a week in Moscow with
the former LL&E Moscow office manager Sergey Danilkin and his family.
They are all well. Sergey now works for Phillips Petroleum. Significant
changes in Russia since we were working there 6 years ago ... many for
the better, in spite of what our media tells us. Over 1300 miles on a small
river boat on canals, rivers, and lakes getting from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
Excellent art museums and the Russian artist are wonderful. Headed for
Alaska tomorrow for a week avoiding the bears and seeking the trout. Still
hear from a number of you on the FLEE and it's tough to get over "feeling
like family" ....believe it or not when I was President of BR (then Milestone
Petroleum) we had that same intangible feeling about each other and our
company. Seems like it got lost along the way. Regards and best wishes
to all from Jean and me.

Debbie L. Jackson
from Cindy Duplessis
In early December, I sent an e-mail requesting prayers, donations and support to help my friend Debbie Jackson, who had been diagnosed with cancer (for the second time), and who was still living in a FEMA trailer.
The response was overwhelming! Donations, calls, prayers, and labor were received by family, friends as well as people neither Debbie or I knew. Through those efforts: the dream became a reality! Debbie's house was completed and we moved her out of the trailer on February 21st.
I must tell you, though, that I am saddened and my heart is heavy......Debbie passed away last Friday, March 20th. Debbie's fought a hard fight, but Our Father had different plans. Debbie has been called to rest, and now she's at peace.
Debbie was SO grateful to all those who helped her. She read every card and was attentive each time I mentioned the names of those who gave of themselves so freely and generously. Even when I told her of inquiries, she wanted to know how "you" were doing. She forgot about her own troubles, and thought about you. She was just that way!
Special thanks to Associated Catholic Charities, Lutheran Disaster Recovery and Reedeemer Presbyterian Church of New Orleans, Kevin Boutte and Ricardo. Because of their volunteering efforts, the job was fun and easier!
The New Orleans funeral service is being planned for Friday, March 28. A church service will be held at: Brook Shaw Temple United Methodist Church - 8818 Pear Street - New Orleans, LA 70118. The time has not yet been determined, but we are hopeful that it will be some time in the morning around 9:00 or 9:30 am. Check the local Times-Picayune for detailed information.
Please continue to keep Debbie's family in your prayers.
Again, thank you and God Bless You!
Cindy Duplessis
Special gratitude extended from:
Ann Barron (Debbie's sister) and Quincey & Alexis Jackson (her kids)

Well, I enjoyed my retirement from COP for about two years. During the day Jerry and I played
tennis, went bowling and to movies, ate out, travelled back and forth frequently between TX and LA
visiting family, and just enjoyed staying busy with “fun” activities. Then in January 2010 opportunity
knocked, and I’ve been working ever since with some ex-Burlington Resources folks who started up their
own Company. What started out as part-time has now ended up being full time and there is no more time
for doing anything fun! Well, of course, I exaggerate; but it feels like I’m on the hamster wheel
again and it’s turning pretty fast now! We have a two year old grandbaby who lives in Louisiana
and we’ve promised to be her “before and after school care”, so it won’t be long before we need to
move back “home”. So although I really like what I’m doing and the people I work with at Oasis,
I’m looking forward to retiring the second time around. It’s nice to read about how everyone’s
