Grahame Rees
Grahame Rees, who worked in LL&E's London office as a contractor for a number of years before joining the permanent staff in 1990 died on Boxing Day. Grahame left LL&E in 1999 having held various positions, the last of which was Exploration Manager. Grahame was a key member of the team that selected the Blocks in Algeria where so much drilling success was to follow in the last five years. Grahame was involved in that drilling activity from 1995 to 1998. In late 1997 Grahame developed an illness that made him decide to take early retirement in early 1999. He made a full recovery and went on to enjoy a brief retirement visiting New Zealand, as well as several European countries with his wife Barbara. Unfortunately, the illness of 1997 recurred last year, cutting short his life. The following notice appeared in The Times in London on 3 January 2002:
REES - Grahame, Ph.D., of Reading. Died 26th December 2001 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. Loving husband of Barbara and much loved father of Cathryn and David. Funeral service on 8th January at 3.00pm at Christ Church, Christchurch Road, Reading and burial on 9th January at 12.00 at Pantyscallog Cemetery, Merthyr Tydfil. Robert O'Neil Riley, died Monday, May 20, 2002 of heart failure at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was 61. Mr. Riley was born in Bartlesville, Okla., and lived in New Orleans for the past 25 years. Lauren, 20, is in her second year of college and is on an athletic scholarship at Appalachian State University where she is the point guard for the Women's Basketball team competing in the NCAA Divison 1 Southern Conference. Her major is Broadcast/Journalism.
Johnny and I are counting the days until we move to the mountains in North Carolina.

Mary Ann Talabock's grandson, Brandon, passed away on Wednesday September 4th. The funeral arrangements are as follows: visitation Sept 6th 5-9:30PM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home in Metairie (4747 Vets) and Saturday (Sept 7th) 8-10:30 at Leitz-Eagan. The funeral mass will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Kenner, and the burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Cemetary in St. Rose.

Great to see so many friends listed. Still happpily retired in Naples, FL. Enjoying life - doing all the things I dreamed of doing in my old age. Got married last October - guess it's never too late! Thanks be to God, our home and family survived the Big-K. I just happened to be visiting our daughter in Fort Worth when Katrina hit the city. She gave birth to a bouncing baby boy 8/12/05. Our youngest daughter was to get married in January 2006, but Katrina altered those plans and they decided to get married at the justice of the peace. She and husband are now living in Harvey, LA and she works with me here at EPL. I miss you all. Take care and may God continue to bless you and yours.

I miss the "Coffee Club" and how we'd "brew at 2" with the FLAVOR DU JOUR. I'm thinking of doing a tee shirt, "LL&E lives on in our hearts". Let me know what you think.
