Well after 26.5 years with LL&E and BR, I am sad to say I resigned November 2006, but feel very fortunate to have had worked with two fantastic Companies! ConocoPhillips acquired BR in 2006 so I took the package as opposed to relocating to Oklahoma. In July, 2000 I earned my Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida. After that I worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Houston, TX for one year in their international tax section. In August, 2000 I returned home to New Orleans. I am now working for a law firm here in New Orleans where I do tax and business law almost exclusively. It is a great job because I see many different types of tax issues, especially estate planning, trusts, employee benefits, and some state and local tax.
Anyway, I hope everyone from the Tax Department is doing great. Anyone is free to call me at 524-2944. I would love to hear from all.

At Home Mom - Wagner Household; Slidell, LA

Hurricane Katrina really dealt a blow to my family. My parents, three brothers and their families, in-laws, two brothers-in-law and their families, and Sean and I lost everything in St. Bernard Parish. Been back to the parish a couple of times and, believe me, pictures on TV or in newspapers do not do it justice. It's SO MUCH worse in person. Very heart wrenching!
We've relocated to Slidell via an evacuation route of Lafayette, Pecan Island and Denham Springs. Sean is still with Progressive Insurance and people continue to crash into each other. Tyler, now 13, and Rebecca, now 8, are attending St. Margaret Mary and have settled in well. Keeping up with the honor roll grades. My job as school secretary went down with St. Louise de Marillac in Arabi. Back to being an at-home Mom. More important to be here for the kids anyway.
Wishes for a wonderful Christmas season to everyone. Remember people are more important than things.

LAN/WAN Support - SAIC; Little Rock, Arkansas

It took awhile but I finally found this site again. Because of Hurricane Katrina we live in Maumelle, Arkansas now. Maumelle is 17 to 18 miles outside of downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. As you can probably guess we lost everything in the flooding caused by Hurricane Katrina. As a matter of fact both me and my wife’s entire family (sisters, brothers, mothers, cousins, etc) lost everything because we all lived in the same area. Unfortunately I knew 5 people who drowned or died during the hurricane. We drove to Little Rock on Sunday, August 28th and found out on Monday afternoon that all of our houses had flooded. Thanks to Entergy and SAIC and insurance we made it through. We lived in a hotel the first month then moved to company provided housing for the next 9 months. I’m glad to report we moved into a new house in Maumelle in December of 2006. We will not be returning to New Orleans because my position was moved to Arkansas. We really miss home and hate being away from our families. I thought I would never be able to live anywhere but New Orleans but I’m glad to say I was wrong. We really like it here in Arkansas and we make trips back to New Orleans when we can. I guess it’s true when they say you can never go home because when we visit, it doesn’t feel like home anymore. After 3 or 4 days I’m itching to get back to Arkansas. These are the cards we were dealt and now we’re just going to play them. Harold JR is 7 years old now and is progressing very well. The schools here are great. My wife is an RN and has her pick of jobs at any hospital that she wants to work at. I’ve moved on to the Data Network Operations group. So things are going very well for us here. Our families have since moved back home to New Orleans and rebuilt there homes and lives. Things were really tough for awhile but by putting our faith and trust in God we were able to get through the tough times. We’ve made it through to the other side, glancing back occasionally, but always moving forward. Best wishes to all of you who have moved back home to rebuild your lives.

I decided to retire in March of 2012 with 17.5 years of service after being offered a work schedule that I just couldn’t live with. There are some good folks out there at the LCGP and I do miss them. However I do not miss the commute, the “click” and especially on those snowy, white out days. I have been truly blessed by our Lord with a great family, good in town job and a Lord that loves me.
May this find all of you in similar circumstances. God bless you all.

last message from Chick:
Being retired is OK --- second best to working. I miss LL&E, all it stood for, its people, all the memories. Unfortunately we can not recapture the past. Times change, the company is history, it doesn't exist anymore --- except in our memories. I have an interest in a fishing camp in the Dulac- Cocodrie area (below Houma) and usually when we go down there we will either stop at the Houma Office or visit with the Voisins, or Brunet. That Houma office was filled with extraordinarily loyal LL&E employees. The company meant every thing to them. Amos told me of this page. If any of you run out of anything to do, give me a shout. I'd love to hear from you. Chick Williamson

"What a trip it has been working for LL&E!"
Really enjoyed the relationships I've developed over the last five years. Can't imagine another company that might offer the opportunity for such a feeling of family. BUT...perhaps they'll make it up in other areas, such as acknowledgment for hard work, loyalty and dedication, education and advancement opportunities, better increases, etc.... need I say more?
